There are mixed receptions inrelation to the presence of the internet and business operation. Thisis because some people believe that the internet has many advantagesin connection to the business environment. They thus base theirattraction to the internet on the advantages they believe it has inthe business environment. However, some critics of the internetbelieve that internet has more disadvantages on the business, ascompared to its contribution for the same towards business.Approximately 78% of modern shoppers use online shopping and researchproducts. For instance, Amazon has over 209 million online activecustomers. It is believed that up to 306 products and services sellin every second. I believe that businesspersons all over the worldneed the web because it has more advantages that can be useful inimproving the trading environment (Halogen Designs, 2010). Itherefore, support the idea that the Web is extremely important inthe contemporary world of business. This paper will explore what thefuture of the web holds on the business environment. It will alsooutline the advantagesof the web presence in the contemporary business world.Let us examine the first reason why web presence could help people inthe business world.
Advantages of Web in BusinessWorld
Web could be a platform forselling products and services for shops and major stores. This offerscustomers some degree of convenience, while also giving the shop andstore owners an extra channel of doing transaction. Customers findit easy shopping in their own convenience at a click of a button,from wherever they are. Shop owners also could increase their revenuebecause they get customers from a wide area. The customers aregenerally from different locations, with different temperaments. Itis therefore, easy for sellers to deal with customers online than itis to deal with them on a face-to-face environment. Customers areable to do research online on certain products before they purchasethe product, thus making it a favorite method of shopping as comparedto the traditional shopping environment (NAED, 2012).
The second reason why webpresence could help people in the business world is that thebusinesses use the web to write emails, which is a very convenientplatform where businesspersons will easy keep records. It is truethat sending emails is easier and more convenient that sending aletter and message could be. This is because it is much easier to usethis email too for any customer and seller who have access to acomputer and the internet. Emailing is also convenient and costeffective because it does not cost much to use Gmail or hotmail emailservices as it would cost to use letters and/or messages. Emailing isalso an environmental friendly method of communication. This isbecause it does not require any paper in order to send an emailsince everything takes place at online (Pollack, 2014).
The third reason why web presencecould help people in the business world concerns advertisement. Mostonline advertisements are free, or maybe cheaper than other kinds ofadvertisements. This makes it cost effective for shop owners toconsider using this tool for advertisement for their products. Inaddition, advertisements done online offer companies wide rangecoverage because anyone can see the product, message, or thecompany’s advertisement anywhere in the world, at any given time.The only requirement is that the target customer or market has acomputer and access to the internet (NAED, 2012).
Future of Web Presence onCareer
In order to clarify the future ofWeb Presence on Careers, I interviewed a High school teacher known asMoose, and Kun- a good friend to me. During the interview, I askedthe interviewees the following question. “Whatnew possibilities does writing online open up?” According to thehigh school teacher, Moose,
“Writingonline is essential in keeping customers updated on the products inthe market. This is essential because customers will easily compareproducts at the click of a button and make their own recommendationsaccording to the quality of the product.”
Theteacher also continued,
“Theworld is becoming digitalized and everyone is turning to the internetfor researches on products. Recommendations also make more shopowners wish to have their own website where others can view thepositive reviews about their stores and attract more customers. Withthe advancement in technology, a platform is in place where safe andsecure transactions can take place. Therefore, there is a brightfuture for the web presence in the business world.”
Peopleand businesspersons have turned to the social sites to advertise andcommunicate to customers in relation to their products. It istherefore, easier to keep track of your customers and know what theywant instantly so that as a seller, you provide for the customer’sneeds. When I asked my friend Kun the same question, he had thefollowing to say:
“PersonallyI use web to socialize, find for something that I may need, search toknow the new arrivals in town as well as ensuring that I know theprice of an item before I can decide to buy it. It is important tocompare prices between shops so that you buy from the most convenientsupplier.”
“Socialsites are amazing because sellers and buyers easilyshare, interact, and/or answer any arising questions and concerns.This way, it becomes easier to keep a customer satisfied because s/hecan reach you the seller, at any given time from wherever s/he is,”added Kun
“With such connections as thesocial sites, the world is really moving fast that. I understand thatonly 47% of small businesses do not have a website or a blog.Blogging is taking a new trend and businesspersons must turn the‘web-way’ if they are to triumph in this competitive world ofbusiness,” noted Moose.
Technology is improving by theday, and businesses are fast conforming to the changes anddevelopment. Most businesses have embraced the development and gonedigital, and the few remaining ones must embrace the same technologyand conform to the new trends if they are to succeed in thiscompetitive world. Web presence is very important in businessesbecause it gives a wider customer base where customers will transactconveniently. Therefore, from the seller’s point of view, the webpresence will increase revenue generation because customers will notbe limited on where they have to walk to purchase the products theyneed. From the buyers’ point of view, it will be easy to compareproducts and prices from shop to shop and thus get a better productat the best price (Barr &Weiss, 2012).
