Sebastian`s Voodoo is a distinction between what is good and evil, for its gesture of sacrifice will be the greatest moment in this short video as voodoo puppets have provided a chance to nourish life that would determine the difference between what is right or wrong. Sebastian himself was portrayed as the voodoo practitioner together with his voodoo dolls that have lives at stake and striving for their survival. It was a first person point of view, where the video maker himself, Sebastian, have linked himself in the story together with the other voodoo puppets. It was a two-tone story of good and evil side as Sebastian himself provided conflicting views about the two different topics.
2. What is the theme of Everyday Use? What issymbolic in The Lottery?
What is the characterization of Farquhar What is the tone of TheCask of Amontillado?
in An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge?
Ambrose Briece, in his work of An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge, must have seen the context of the story in the world of reality and the robustness of the fantasy that he had created at the beginning of the story. He had further detailed the context of the story at the last part to bring his idea into realism and would thought of the fantasy world similar to that of the real world. The reality that he had brought to his audience had brought a change not only to some but to many Americans as well.
The narrator in Poe`s The Cask of Amontillado seemed to be an unreliable and unstable character in the short story. The Gothic terror is the result of the narrator’s simultaneous love for himself and hatred of his rival. The double shows that love and hate, and one`s self-character and his alter ego, are inseparable and suggests that they may simply be two forms of the most intense form of human emotion. The narrator loves himself, but when feelings of self-hatred arise in him, he projects that hatred onto an imaginary copy of himself.
In the story of Walker`s Everyday Use, Mama fantasizes about reunion scenes on television programs in which a successful daughter embraces the parents who have made her success possible. Sometimes Mama imagines reuniting with Dee in a similar scenario, in a television studio where an amiable host brings out a tearful Dee, who pins orchids on Mama’s dress. Hence, television was a symbol of a mother-daughter relationship for her.
The black box represents both the lottery`s tradition and the illogic of the villagers’ loyalty to it. The black box is falling apart, hardly even black anymore after years of use and storage, but the villagers are unwilling to replace it. They base their attachment on nothing more than a story that claims that this black box was made from pieces of another, older black box. The lottery is filled with similar relics from the past that have supposedly been passed down from earlier days, such as the creation of family lists and use of stones.
This short video expresses Sebastian`s own concept of what is good and evil, being applied in his voodoo dolls that he had created on the video. As his role of a voodoo practitioner, he had expressed his own self and thoughts by the voodoo puppets that he had created, including the one doll he had portrayed by his own character and soul. Showing compassion and sympathy to Sebastian himself may not be prevented, especially that his own creation of himself through a voodoo doll have all the responsibility to give up his own life.
The little girl is literally catapulted into a world of undead people – a festive place of ecstatic dances – and guided by a mysterious skeleton-woman that will let her take a glimpse of a very vital afterlife. Assured that the dead would be insulted by mourning or sadness, Dia de los Muertos celebrates the lives of the deceased with food, drink, parties, and activities the dead enjoyed in life. Hence, the daughter only dance with her mother in her dreams and were considered as fantasy.
The short story of Sintel has a very conflicting plot which made it too complex for a short film. It just made no sense for an insane protagonist to chase after her childhood pet for over 30 years and kidnap it from its mother. Sintel is a very unlikeable character which is unforgivable from the actions she had portrayed in the story.
I would rather choose the flower instead of the weed. The red flower was poisonous. The deer might have been frightened, but I think it knows that the red flower is poisonous. At one point the red flower makes a reference to her poison being gone. Which I assume returns after she becomes healthy again. Hence, there is a possible change, everything can have second chance to be reborn and strive for progress and development.
