Thefloor plan under revise is that of ABC Bank, located in New York. Thepurpose of the floor plan is to aid the provision of financialservices in banking and consultancy. According to Gouin (2007), afloor plan of an organization should conform to both itsorganizational purpose and security measures. Therefore, the floorplan of ABC Bank has three main sections the customer service area,the banking hall area and the financial services area. This setupgives the bank the ability to expand sections, merge sections ortransfer the functions of one section to another.
Thethree floor plan sections of the bank make the general and specificpurposes of the institution. The customer service section is lowerwith large space for customer queuing and several desk spaces forconsultation. The banking hall area occupies the largest space of thefloor plan. The section contains the telling section, which is themain financial part of the bank as it involves depositing andwithdrawal of money by customers over the counter. The section hasten personalized booths which are well distanced in the floor plan.The final section of financial services is mainly staffed andadministrative part, with staff offices and personalized corporatebanking sub-sections.
Accordingto Wortley and Mazerolle (2013), adequate security features of afloor plan should involve mechanical, human and technologicalfeatures. The bank has several sections for armed guards and unarmedsecurity officers. For instance, the left side and right sides arefitted with fixed locations for security and bank guides. The bankhas three main mechanical doors, with each section with its ownsecure doors. There is one secure room with complex mechanicalsecurity of safes and key locks for keeping liquid cash.Technologically, the entire floor plan is under full 24-hour CCTVcamera surveillance. In addition, the floor plan has one dedicatedroom for security monitoring and coordination of all the securityfeatures.
