Kingston Montessori School is a privately owned Montessori School located at 1134 Johnson St., on the corner of Johnson St. and Portsmouth Ave., in Kingston Ontario.
Again this year we are pleased to offer a Summer Program for children aged 3-5. Each session lasts for one week -- a new theme each week -- and children are welcome to join us in any, a few, or all of our 8 Summer Fun programs.
Each Summer Fun program will include indoor and outdoor play, snack, and appropriate songs and games. The activities are related to the week's theme, and will include Montessori-based activities.
Montessori is a child-centred program, with free choice and many individual and small group activities. It is this type of activity that is so well suited to the 5 & under age group.
The Summer Fun program is taught by qualified, experienced teachers, and some weeks we may also include student volunteers. Our ratio is 8-1, and we are licensed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services.
In September, KMS will return to its traditional Montessori program.
"To assist a child we must provide him with an environment which will enable him to develop freely." Maria Montessori
