The staff at K.M.S. are highly qualified, nurturing and well experienced with young children.
Linda Karchmar has been teaching at K.M.S. since 1981, after receiving her
B.A. and B.Ed. from Queen's University in 1979, and her A.M.I. (Association
Montessori Internationale) training in Toronto in 1981. Linda and her husband
Ron Cameron have been operating the school on their own since 1989. Linda
brings a love of children and her love of teaching to KMS, along with more than twenty
years experience in a Montessori environment.
Ron Cameron, co-owner of KMS, has been secretary/treasurer of KMS since
he and Linda purchased the school in 1989, and now is the full-time administrator. As well as contributing in numerous
other ways, Ron is especially helpful as a supply teacher, having spent six years
as a classroom assistant. He has also been known to cook a few lunches!
Volunteers are often welcomed into the school to work with the children on extra activities, or in the library. Student teachers (both Montessori and Queen's) often use our facilities as part of their training process. Parents are encouraged to attend field trips and special events throughout the year.
